This year, ASICS decided to split up its fall shoe updates. Traditionally, the Kayano, the GT-2000 and the GT-1000 all updated on November 1. To reduce confusion and improve availability, this year the Kayano and the GT-1000 moved to September 1 and the GT-2000 will remain a November 1 update.
So, without further ado, here is some info on ASICS' fall shoe updates:
This is the much-anticipated update to ASICS' flagship stability trainer, the Gel-Kayano. This 21st edition is both softer and lighter than it has ever been. In addition to enhanced gel pods, the most significant update is a new rearfoot crash pad, which is engineered to provide a smoother, more stable heel-toe transition. The FluidRide material in the midsole is also redesigned to enhance bounce-back and reduce weight. The Kayano continues to provide an excellent premium cushion option for mild to moderate overpronators.
The GT-1000 brings light weight and value to the ASICS stability line. This third generation is freshened from the ground up, and features significant Gel pods and full length SpeVA midsole for a smooth, cushioned ride. The Dynamic DuoMax and ASICS Guidance Trusstic systems keep the shoe stable without being intrusive or heavy. Add in new tooling to give the upper a premium fit and you have a value shoe with a top-notch feel.
