Why technical apparel?
Technical apparel offers the best moisture-wicking technology in warm conditions and the best heat retention technology in cold conditions. During the summer, proper apparel can be the difference between discomfort and dehydration and a successful workout in warm conditions. The reasoning is simple: moisture management. Technical fabrics increase the surface area of evaporation for sweat molecules. Cotton apparel traps moisture next to your body; the clothes become heavier, cause you to work more, and cause you to sweat more. It's a vicious cycle. Likewise, in the winter, properly layered apparel will serve you better than any cotton sweatshirt for warmth. A wicking base-layer will take sweat away from your body so moisture does not freeze against your skin, a warm mid-layer will trap your body heat next to you to keep you warm while continuing to wick moisture away from the body, and your outer-layer will protect you from the elements, especially wind and precipitation.
3 reasons why our apparel is higher quality than Target's
1. Regardless of fabric quality, lower-end polyester apparel is generally not cut as well, with more seams in high-wear areas. This can cause more chafing and irritation, as well as an overall less comfortable fit.
2. If you look at the texture of high-end synthetic apparel, it has a "waffle" or "honeycomb" sort of design. This increases the surface area of the fabric in order to enhance moisture-wicking. The same amount of sweat actually has more fabric working to pull it off your skin. Low end fabrics are flat and do not pull moisture away from the skin as well even though they are polyester.
3. The thread count of high-end polyester is much higher (just like a Balega sock compared to a cheaper sock). This makes for a softer, more comfortable feel, as well as more durable and less likely to cause chafing.
